Gwent Centre Youth Committee

Gwent Centre Youth Committee

Welcome to the Gwent Centre Youth Committee page. This year the Gwent Youth Committee have run a number of activities during the rallies to encourage more young people to attend rallies and also to give ralliers of all ages an opportunity to participate in a fun activity over the weekends.

Great care has been taken to ensure that all activities comply with Covid guidelines and regulations at the time of the event and as you will appreciate, for this reason it might be necessary to amend or even cancel an activity during a weekend.

Our Youth Chairman Chloe holds a monthly meeting with her Committee to discuss future events and we are looking forward to the next event.  The Youth Committee are looking for more members to help them and please approach Chloe, Dylan or the Youth Liaison Committee members (Jane and Seren) for further information on how to get involved.

Last weekend the Youth Chair was pleased to announce that another member had joined the Committee - welcome Emily

Youth Activities

18 to 20 June 2021 - Caldicot Castle

What a weekend it was.  The weather was great and everybody had a fabulous, safe and fun-filled time with some socially distanced walking football laid on by the Youth Committee, which proved a great success with support from our ralliers.  Some of the feedback received included "fab weekend", "so many laughs were needed by all", "so much fun" and "fab photos".  Well done to our Youth Committee for organising another fab weekend for us all.

4 to 6 June 2021 - Go Go Youth!!!  What a weekend its been again, with the hot weather making way for an enjoyable walk up the Sugar Loaf Mountain outside Abergavenny!  If that wasn't enough our youth members then set about planning the layout and making some craft items for their stall in preparation for the Chairman, Youth and Charity Rally in a couple of weeks time.

The theme for the Chairman, Youth and Charity Rally is Christmas so dust off your decorations and prepare yourselves for a mid-year Christmas celebration to remember to make up for the one we missed out on owing to Covid restrictions!!

Easter Virtual Bake-Off

Covid guidelines meant that the annual bake-off event could not take place this year, so the Youth Committee decided that they were not going to let that stop them and instead organised a virtual cake baking competition where entrants cooked a cake and submitted pictures for judging.  The winner was Jane Shiels with this amazing offering - Number 3 in the picture
